Pros
Incredibly exciting environment to work in. The perfect blend of being established organisation, but with the buzz, pace and agility you get in a startup environment. I’ve worked alongside the most talented people - I’ve learned so much and built up a great network in the process. New stuff happening all the time. If you’re a go-getter, you can create your own opportunities by working hard, doing a great job and simply by having conversations with the right people. Also a very sociable place. People are nice, friendly and socialise regularly after work. I’ve made some good friends at BC.
Cons
Wet blankets need not apply! If you’re looking for an easy ride, this isn’t the place. You’ll only thrive at BC if you’re inspired to get stuff done and can handle the pace. But - that doesn’t mean you have to work 70 hour weeks. Work/life balance is perfect. Some may say that to get to the top, you have to have a certain profile. However, clearly there has been a genuine effort to bring more diversity into senior teams in the last 12 months - my view is that if you’re good and you want to succeed, you can do that here. BC will sometimes take tough decisions. You have to accept that risk - it’s one of the reasons it’s so successful.
