Pros

There is a strong focus on training and development. There are plenty of classroom based and online training courses Plenty of opportunity to travel I worked with some fantastic individuals; really productive and really intelligent

Cons

JDA is currently going through a huge level of change. Customer-specific software is being phased out so that they can focus on licence sales. They have seen a huge impact on sales and as a result they are faced with anaemic growth across all products. 3 years ago we were winning bigger and bigger customers each year. Now the customers we sell to are smaller and smaller; fewer and fewer. JDA simply is not doing enough business to grow like it used to. The company responded to this by shifting 70% of work to lower cost locations. This was expected to improve the margins (hit by dwindling sales) without compromising on quality. Unfortunately this has put more fuel to the fire. Lower cost development has resulted in more software issues, delayed schedules and a mass exodus of strong employees across the globe.

While we appreciate and actively encourage open and direct comment and feedback, there are a number of factual inaccuracies in this review. JDA is not selling to fewer, smaller companies. In fact the last two quarters have seen some of the biggest deals in JDA's history both in US and EMEA. It is also a matter of opinion as to whether customers want software customised to fit them or to buy software that underpins global best practice and transformational processes. Finally, JDA actively looks to pay mid to upper quartile salaries to hire and retain the best people. While salaries are naturally a subjective matter, we believe that no JDA Associate is paid a 'sub-standard' salary.
