Pros
Construction work, core of civil engineering. Though designs of culverts, bridges etc are outdated, adequate knowledge and experience in road construction and management can be obtained.
Cons
The attitude and mindset of superior officers is pathetic. Many superiors lack motivation and stay in BRO as they are not able to get a good private job.....simply sitting monthly getting fools. Highly selfish superiors who play dirty office politics. Many roads of this organisation are handed over to NHIDCL.....very little work. Leave policy only on paper. Highly recommended if you want to work with some worthless and brainless, selfish fools who lack both talent and discipline. Inter cadre service is its drawback as even electrical and mechanical engineers from army construct roads.
