Pros
You can work from home or anywhere remotely. Laid back clothing attire. Weekly drinks on Fridays. Sometimes there are fur friends. A mix of young people.
Cons
The owners work closely with management who are in charge of hiring/firing, the relationship between them are not professional as their conversations switches from work to gossip quite often. The pay is low, when you ask for what you're worth they'll find someone cheaper. In your interview process they will gaslight you and often not offer you the role. At the start there is attention to see how you're going, how you're liking it and you will often be offered a glass of wine towards the end of the week which all seems cruisey to start with. However as time goes past, you will notice the level of nepotism as it becomes very transparent how incestuous everyone is, you're most likely hired and kept on if you're related to someone and they wont even look at your merits or CV. The on boarding process is very unstructured, the cliche of start ups become apparent. There is no support or structure, you're definitely not set up for success, you'll be on your own to figure it out. If you reach out for help or initiate it's all lip service of "That's great!! Fantastic! Just reach out!!" and you'll be "empowered to say no!" by the bosses during the weekly meetings but there is no action to follow up. I remember when I first started and met one of the bosses, he didn't even smile or acknowledge me, he oversells the company. Most things are silo, people come and they go, there is no warning on who is who or who does what. They fire people as they please and most times unfairly.
