Pros
-really fun job sometimes as get to be outside with the kids doing activities which beats the 9-5 office slog -really a summer student job but great because it provides a basis to make many new friends and is a very social job (drinks after work etc…)
Cons
Where do I begin… -no job security, zero hour contract with absolutely no rights at all. Some staff being dismissed without so much as a reason given and hours being cut (do not work here if you need a solid, stable income) -Staff members being threatened and shouted at by senior leaders if you aren’t doing your job properly despite a lack of formal training. -a lot of responsibility without relevant checks being completed and therefore a risk you could be liable criminally if something were to happen to a child while on the job (too much pressure for a minimum wage) -bus pass no longer included in the wage so it comes out of your own money and sometimes you may be required to purchase your own bus tickets which fall outside of the bus pass area.
