Pros

Off brand pizza lunches that seemingly disappear after everybody leaves.

If one were brutally honest about this company in a review it would never pass Glassdoor's Community Guidelines. Look at the review before this one. "Great Place To Work". The "To" in this title should not have been capitalized, by the way. The Pros section did not end with a period, yet Cons and Advice to Management does end with a period. No proofreading. Quickly written and quickly submitted as though this were an assignment. The review was listed on May 24th, 2016. Not a single person has clicked the Helpful button in more than 3 years. Yet every single negative review's Helpful button continued to increment during the same time. This, in and of itself, speaks volumes of what past employees (and perhaps current) think of broadconnect and it's management. If you see any average reviews after mine that seemingly point out nonsensical or irrelevant Cons like "Add more windows..." Better still, if you see another 5 star review like this gem "Great Place To Work"... I think you can come to your own conclusions. To provide a glimpse of the internal mechanisms and nuances of broadconnect would take a lifetime to write. Let's glean over some of the highlights and please excuse me for my brevity... The pressure to do more for the company and the subsequent shock and disgusted revulsion when compensation is brought up, the verbal and mental abuse when things are not done a certain way to please the neuroticisms of management. The raises that were promised and then conveniently forgotten. The social shunning when you speak against the brainwashed hive mind. If you want to make an honest living get a second job. Several current employees do. If you ever decide to leave the company the simpletons will begin making disparaging remarks about you and how little you have contributed during your tenure. Titles do not matter in this company. The state of your relationship with management is the only consideration on where in the company hierarchy you stand. To the untrained eye, the management strives to paint a picture of a supportive, open-door policy where suggestions and concerns are welcome. At their best, they're as truthful as a multi-level marketing firm with big smiles and lovely reassurances. At their worst, they're toxic. The work environment is a contest on who can please management the best which subsequently results in backstabbing, undermining and stealing credit. It is not about what talents you bring to the table or how long you have dedicated to the company. It is, unfortunately, about how faithful you are to the management's ever-changing ideas on loyalty. They endeavor to surround themselves with YES men. The management uses this method as a way to provide affirmation for their conduct. Once the honeymoon phase has passed you will soon realize that you have stumbled upon not peers with a common goal, but a nest of vultures that sit around quietly rooting for you to fail. The dichotomy of broadconnect is not the fault of the employee. One would make the comparison of a German foot soldier during the late 1930s to early 1940s. They were simply following orders. Following the meticulously curated backdrop where an individual is presented with the age-old conundrum, does one steal food to feed one's family or starve? As a current employee ask yourself when good people leave this company what do the sheep around you say about that individual? What does management say when they walk around attempting to disparage the individual while desperately trying to uphold the facade of a well-meaning, employee-driven workplace? Do you think you will be any different? Do you believe the time you have sacrificed for this company was worth it? The time you could have spent investing in a company that values your efforts and encourages your professional growth.. and yet you were here working unpaid overtime for the kind of management that became disconnected with the rest of us. The kind of management that never held a job, as an employee, in their lives. To the former employees, congratulations on finding the courage to leave. Congratulations on deciding to put yourself, your family and your career first. People here are too bitter to admit you've made the right choice. Too envious of not being qualified to go anywhere else. Too scared to admit they're wasting their lives here. Rest assured an idea was carefully planted around the office that you were fired for incompetence and not the other way around.

Pretty Good Company until it got aquired by a bad one.

Cons

Aquision was the worst part. only the owners made money rest were laid off

Pros

Management aside, the people that work at Broadconnect are very friendly and care about one another.

Cons

You know it's a problem when management doesn't listen to feedback from the staff, or quite frankly, even seem to care. If you treat your people poorly they'll leave ... obviously not a surprise. So why does management seem to not care, listen, or follow-up on feedback. It's a family run business, and the family looks out for one another, but, seem to leave the staff behind. There are no benefits, the salary is poor, the job is constantly changing, and you're never really sure where you stand. This isn't a career, it's a short term job until you can find something else. With attitude like this, I can't see them being around for very long.
