Pros

None that I can think of

Cons

I wouldn't touch this place with a bargepole. Bubble has been one of the most toxic work environments I have ever worked in. Onboarding was an absolute joke, I was not trained properly and after a few months I still did not know how to do half of my job, but when asked for help you are often ignored or get a pointless response a couple hours later. You're being managed by inexperienced managers who do not listen to feedback, will micromanage you and throw extra work on you ( of which they don't de themselves by the way) and then will tell you that you need to work better and harder, however this isn't reciprocated by the team leads. Forget about having a social life or a sick relative if you work here, because you will have to live and breathe Bubble and there is no time for anything else. Team leads are not sympathetic to any issues that go on in your personal life and are often dismissed and still given a heavy workload. The work culture in general is quite toxic and there have been many people who have left due to this, they ask and say feedback is welcomed, but this is often dismissed or held against you, and you're expected to go above and beyond for a company that doesn't at all value or listen to you. When providing feedback to raise concerns about my team leads this was dismissed and was told they were "great". However this isn't the case for anyone working directly under them, as this isn't the first time the team have raised concerns over the team leads management styles and condescending and racist behaviour. Team leads will often talk about how easy it is to get a promotion here and how they received 2 promotions since being here. Well this is true if you're white and also a favourite however if you're a POC with more experience and have been at the company longer, you still will not receive recognition or any promotion. Your freedom is taken away from you here and if you say no when asked to cover other peoples hours, you are looked at weirdly and told you are not working hard. If you are looking for flexible working and a company you can strive and be promoted ( unless you are a POC then forget about a promotion) please do look somewhere else.

Bubble (UK) Response
3y
We’re genuinely sorry you had a bad experience at Bubble. We take feedback extremely seriously. We never ignore it, and we do absolutely try our best to ensure we meet it with an open mind, humility and a desire to constantly better ourselves. At the same time - we owe it to ourselves and our lovely, hard-working team to refute what you’ve written in your review. Bubble has always benefited from having a hugely diverse group of employees. It’s something we actively strive for. We’re proud and lucky to employ a team of people from a wide range of backgrounds, religions, ethnicity, colour and race. This is true across all levels of the business including senior management, and including people who have enjoyed promotions due to their outstanding work. We’re by no means perfect, have no doubt made mistakes and there are things we do as a business that can without question be improved. However, race has never - and will never - play any part in any decision we’ve made with regards to hiring, promotions or when it comes to having to let people go. People are promoted on merit, and those who aren’t promoted were up against others better qualified for the job at hand. Internal promotion is something we champion and are always proud to award. We’ve been lucky to have several supremely talented and hard-working people here, and we are always looking to promote from within. We value the people we have who are committed to doing great work - it’s our job to proactively reward them and recognise their efforts We also don’t recognise what you’ve written about not being able to care for sick loved ones. This could not be further from the truth. We have countless examples where team members have needed and been granted time off and extra flexibility for health reasons or other personal situations. We have private medical insurance, enhanced parental leave and enhanced compassionate leave precisely because the health and happiness of our people and their extended family is so important to us. We always go above and beyond and there are countless people at Bubble who would testify to this. We don’t expect a pat on the back for any of this - it’s our duty. But we must reject any claims of the opposite. Clearly, you’ve had a really bad time of it during your short time with us. Genuinely, we’re sorry about that and of course we accept that there are things we could do better. You weren’t with us for very long, and also joined during a time of some general change. Your onboarding was something we did invest in, but accept if you feel it was not adequate for you. More so, having quickly realised that perhaps Bubble wasn’t the best place for you we offered you the opportunity to work together to get back on track. We also offered you multiple opportunities to discuss any issues with us in a constructive way, though this wasn’t something you wished to do, which is your prerogative of course. We take all feedback really seriously, it’s not just lip service and we have a track record of introducing several new measures specifically in response to feedback we get from our team. And we’ll keep on doing that because we are a group of genuinely caring people who want people who work here to love doing so. So whilst we strongly disagree with the views you’ve expressed, we will still be reflecting on them intently, and our offer to discuss any of it with you in a constructive, kind manner will always remain open. All the best, Ari Founder, CEO
