Pros
The people hanging on and that are not in leadership are some of the brightest and hard-working people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Most will blame the full acquisition into Ferguson as the decline of the business - honestly Build would never have survived without Ferguson to prop it up with DC's and business resources like access to lawyers and products. Ferguson has been a positive for many people - they have opened up career paths for many previously never able to get ahead, as well as plethora of connections and career growth.
Cons
Build is a "boys" club - people who knew Chris Friedland rode his coattails for so long they had the right placing when Ferguson took over to move up in the company. Then they reached out to give a hand to their buddies or family. We saw so much "realignment" within Build to Ferguson but for some strange reason, we still have large areas of marketing and merchandising reporting into the Build structure...IE you know these directors won't make it in Ferguson so you protect them.
