Pros

- All of your leave is given up front when you're hired, not accrued, which is awesome - The people are all open minded and mission driven - They have addressed any concerns seen in other reviews about lack of upward mobility or professional development. They are really trying to take care of the Junior staff - Andy, the CEO, is hilarious and down to earth - Work-from-home Fridays every other Friday

Cons

- Hours are 9:00am - 6:00pm, but the Leadership Team will just decide not to show up to the office without telling their team and will frequently leave the office at 3:00pm or whenever they want to go home, go to appointments, go see family, etc. Hurts morale a bit, because the Junior team will always be expected to stay the full hours and answer all work calls/e-mails, even if they have children or long commutes. But of course, the Leadership have earned their right and the trust to be able to have flexible hours, so you have to earn it I think.

Pros

I've worked at some top organizations, and so far Burness has been the best place I've worked. The work is very meaningful and the range of clients and causes you get to work on is truly incredible. There is almost no cause/social issue that Burness hasn't had an impact on/worked on to some degree. Colleagues are kind, supportive, passionate people and there is no sense of unhealthy competition you find at other top workplaces/agencies. Overall, I'm grateful to be a part of this company and to be making a difference in a multitude of powerful ways.

Cons

Agency work is demanding across-the-board, and Burness is no exception. We all work on a variety of clients and juggling them, as well as communication among colleagues across the variety of projects we work on, requires skill and patience. However, unlike other agencies, I believe Burness is close to the top when it comes to not expecting too much, and allowing us time and space to grow. I know firsthand from others working at top agencies how much companies can unrealistically demand of their people, and think Burness strikes a good balance between these extremes - and they are always trying to improve.
