Pros

Ideal for individuals whose strength lies in charm and polish rather than critical thinking

Cons

- Senior white staff openly assert their privileges, shaping a culture where Black and minority staff are routinely sidelined. - Talented African and Black professionals are often blocked from high-profile opportunities, especially at senior levels due to senior leadership's fragility. - Over the past three years, two African regional directors have left, highlighting a hostile working environment and leadership instability. - African staff are underpaid relative to responsibilities and market standards, typically being paid in their local currencies. - HR are chronically underqualified, overreach and intentionally fail to protect staff equitably, particularly minorities. - Systemic bias and lack of inclusive leadership undermine equity and inclusion, particularly at the very senior levels. - Despite publicly promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, the organisation remains far behind best practices as of 2026. These patterns make it a challenging environment for underrepresented talent seeking growth and recognition.

Pros

Interactions with folks around the world and opportunities to truly expand one’s own social, cultural and world views.

Cons

Laughably low pay, limited opportunities for career progression, insubstantial work, questionable outcomes, terrible management, despicable treatment of workforce that shows with an incredibly high turnover rate. Management doesn’t care and continues to hire and break motivated young people eager to make a difference, and who will inevitably leave, utterly disillusioned.
