Pros

Many opportunities for learning, with colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds.

Cons

Your experience will depend a lot on context, however, including not only your manager but your job classification and how it fits into the particular agency and office within CalEPA where you are employed. These factors will most influence your promotional and career development possibilities, including opportunities for acting on your knowledge and learning.

Pros

There are some very intelligent people who truly care about the environment working at CalEPA. They share ideas to come up with best solutions for pollution problems.

Cons

The sense of entitlement that comes with working for "Agency" has brought out the worst in some people. They abuse the leave system by going on vacation to Hawaii for 2 weeks but claiming it as work because they checked their email. Working on a private personal business endeavor during state business hours. Using a position of power to manipulate someone out of their job and your "favorite" into it. Always feeling that there is no one you can go to for assistance because those you complain about are too high up t be reprimanded. it would have to come from the Governor himself! Also BreAnda Northcutt is not a CEO. Executive staff usually changes every 4 years with the change in political administration.
