Pros

The only pro would be the insurance plan but, most companies have good group plans

Cons

-Hostile work environment. No topic is off limits to discuss while in the office here. Politics, sex, religion, etc. is all debated openly and in front of management with no repercussions. -You have PTO but, you are made to feel bad about using it -If you are a consultative salesperson...run because this isn't for you. Aggressive, badgering, stretching the truth, over promise and under deliver is the name of the game for this office. - No product training really. Everything is learned on the fly and by word of mouth from your co-workers. - The product you are selling is basically a luxury item for most of the prospects -The pay is NOT competitive and is really sub par versus the amount of BS you deal with to close one sale. -Last thing, you are selling to people in the construction industry so BEWARE.

Pros

Great insurance and benefits! Business casual dress is always a plus. Owner Bill Black is great, takes time out for his employees. Training is thorough and managers are very supportive. Good place to develop your skills right out of college. Commission can be good if you're willing to work for it. Any concerns you take to upper management are quickly addressed.

Cons

Office manager was promoted based on seniority, not management skills. There were definitely management issues, office was poorly run, rules were sporadically enforced, it was a human resources nightmare. My boss tried very hard, but was often lost when it came to resolving these issues (due to lack of training). Also it's nearly impossible to get fired, which sounds like a pro but is really a con when you consider the people you'll be stuck working with. Regarding the reporting job, you will be searching for information/leads that your sources will want to keep confidential. Weakhearted need not apply. Additionally, job performance is completely based on health of the construction industry. If contractors don't have money to build, your ability to meet goals will suffer. There is a lot of industry competition from Dodge and Reed.
