Pros
This organization genuinely cares about its patients and employees. Some of the Associates have more than 30 years of experience. That type of commitment comes from a sound philosophical belief that they are committed to a healing ministry. The people are very talented. It tends to attract people who have strong religious conviction though not all are Catholic.
Cons
This organization is going to profound, painful change. The centralization of the System Office in Irving has led to an incredible rate of turnover. Once the organization was populated by long time people who had a great deal of organizational knowledge. The profound loss of prior knowledge has created a chaotic environment. The organization doesn't seem to understand how to coalesce around important things that matter, that are the underpinnings of patient care. The patients don't suffer because the people in charge are doing a good job of making patient care the focus. But the fact is that structurally the organization has a lot of serious issues that need to be solved. This cannot happen using the existing paradigms.
