Pros

If you can get one of the staff parking spaces at head office they're pretty cheap, I guess?

Cons

When the pandemic hit in 2020, CMV immediately forced all salaried full-time staff down to 40%, two days a week. They did this by asking us all to "voluntarily" sign a contract agreeing to it, with a deadline of less than 48 hours (nowhere near enough time to seek independent advice) and veiled threats of redundancies to anyone that didn't comply. I also experienced a huge amount of sexist and LGBT-hostile experiences at CMV. The CTO got drunk and (jokingly?) threatened to queer-bash strangers. I was told that my right to dress according to my gender "had to be balanced with the fact that this is a conservative company". Staff members would take calls from female staff, then Facebook-stalk them and loudly make comments about their sexual desirability, in full earshot of multiple levels of management. Additionally, multiple male staff members around me experienced a sexist attitude to parenting and work-life balance; multiple men in multiple parts of the company were forced back into the office because they had young children at home, and management felt this distracted them from their work. There was a strong expectation that their wives look after the kids and they focused 100% on work.

Pros

Exposure to a range of responsibilities, yearly complimentary events

Cons

terrible workplace culture, bullying not taken seriously by management, very cliquey and if you aren't in that in crowd you are left behind - so bad that it gets in the way of professional development, glad I left when I did been happier over the last few years
