Pros

There are a lot of job opportunities on campus. I have held several roles since I started working at CSUF. The health benefits and retirement benefits are excellent. Work from home is allowed one day a week, in some departments.

Cons

Morale was low before Covid and had only gotten worse once layoffs happened in 2020. We are overworked due to short staffing, and underpaid. Upper management has no clue how to boost morale, other than offering the equivalent of pizza parties to try to motivate their teams. There are no opportunities for raises. Anything more than a 7% pay increase requires the VP's signature. Office culture is stale and managers are poor communicators.

Pros

•Making Connections •Gain experience in public institutions on how things work around here.

Cons

•Management could be so entitled. When I was a staff member, leadership sees you as trash. Leadership could be scary! It’s all about reputation here so be careful and stay on the low. Just do your work and leave.
