Pros
It’s a fun atmosphere to be around, my coworkers were all pretty chill. Fun way to spend weekends throughout the summer.
Cons
The management is not great, at least not after that place got torched. It seems like there’s a real hierarchy with this management, and as a server assistant it really doesn’t feel like a service job at all. It feels like you’re just doing heavy lifting and busywork all day. The hours are super long, not worth the physical stress (for any age, I’m 22), and the pay doesn’t justify it either. The way tip outs work is horrendous, bottle girls (who make 6 figures at the end of the summer) are supposed to tip out server assistants that help them out with 10% of what they got. However, this isn’t enforced, it comes down to if you’re on good terms with them, and it’s totally up to their discretion. I have to say I’ve worked many jobs before, I loved working as a server in a restaurant and working here is obviously nowhere near the same role, so if you’re a male going into it with the same idea, turn around and go somewhere else. Maybe time to implement a better training system as well when on-boarding. We came in once for a few hours, didn’t really do anything, and although I’m experienced as a server, I still had no idea what this role entailed.
