Pros
- overall a great group of people as long as you keep them at arm's length - room for advancement -if you get to know the right people - you can work for years and still get no where if the target you for no reason (and this happens all the time)
Cons
- still corrupt at the manager level (i.e. friends hiring friends vs. qualified people) - management is not approachable and rather look the other way than deal with real issues - back stabbing abounds - it's in their Nature; trust no one - be prepared to not have one job to do - they typically give you at least three full time jobs to do and the expectation is that you WILL do them - or watch out at review time - retaliation policy is in writing only - it's alive and well in this company - money seems to rise to the top layer of management while the grunt workers have to use both side of a sticky note to save money for the company - the core values that Cabela's claims to embrace does not apply to managers and above - they can do what they want and treat people how they want - absolutely no respect for individuals happening here
