Pros

Fun - it's really fun to work with the Housing especially if you assign in one of the newer building. It's very clean and spacious. You always work there as a team and most of the work requires a lot of collaboration. The people there are great and leaders on their own field. Free Housing- Yes, housing cost is high. You save a lot of money by living in one of the room for free. Free food- it's a buffet style in the dining common. You go there for free and eat all you can. I actually lost weight while working there. You learn to lead, get organize and manage your time.

Cons

Less time for personal leisure, very demanding work, burn out, and can negatively affect your GPA. Also, it's sucks when you have a lot of room mates especially if yu assign in the freshmen building though, the room is new and clean.

Pros

good head of the department (depends on your department)

Cons

They have terrible HR services. They do not keep up with scheduled pay. The semester is in the last week and I have only gotten two paychecks. They switch policies without warning and won't let you sign up for direct deposit until after your first paycheck and you have to be on campus. When they told me to pick up my paycheck, I got there and they said they aren't paying me for another six weeks (this was after I confirmed multiple times that my paycheck would be available for pickup). I asked if I could set up direct deposit and they said no I would have to come back (which is fine if you leave near campus but I did not as I was moving to the area and needed prof of income). They also would not give me a contract until weeks into the semester and could not confirm my salary beforehand. I feel that this is a nation-wide thing but I really feel like they take advantage of new professors who are just starting post-grad. When it comes to the students sometimes it feels more like I'm doing customer service than professing but again, that's more of a nationwide thing. If you are deciding between two jobs, take the other one.
