Pros

Great place to build your skillset within the chemical and manufacturing industry. Low-level management is a catch-all position and enjoyed the diversity of the tasks, variety of projects, etc. Never a dull moment and always a task to keep your hands and mind busy. There are some great individuals that worked at this company during my time there, and they were a substantial reason that it was intermittently enjoyable. The site/facility is rather extensive in its processing scope/capabilities, and as such, features a wide variety of equipment and processes. An excellent place to learn all the unit operations and advance your education within the chemical/manufacturing industry. Excellent starting place for junior engineers, supervisors, and entry-level management.

Cons

Production, operations, and engineering is the last individual on the "production line", and as such, you will be held to task and expected to make up for "lost time" that is created by all other departments as only production/operations have to report on a regular basis about the timeline of the processes. No sense of urgency in many other departments (QC, QA, AD, maintenance, etc.), but you will still be expected to deliver on time regardless of the obstacles that are thrown in your way by your very own co-workers. Culture and environment create ungodly stress on production. When faced with constant questions of why this process isn't where it should be, production will have to answer for every miniscule delay while other departments are allowed to make excuses that go unquestioned. Processes, procedures, deviations, and investigations will be held hostage for days by QA department, but then zero excuses allowed by production on four hours of production issues. Almost zero accountability for those that essentially complete zero work. 70% stand around causing problems, 20% work to the best of their ability, and 10% are responsible for the "over and above" to offset the 70% that complete next to zero work.

Pros

Site capabilities and scientific personnel in the US are world-class.

Cons

Sales management is more concerned with 'covering their 6' than effectively managing a talented sales team to success. Upper management is focused on selling the business. Poor front-line moral of scientists and key personnel.
