Pros
- The hourly employees are great people! - I got to learn a lot about how different management styles impact a team - minimal sales team drama (compared to other stores) due to store goal-centric bonus structure - due to their desperation to fill roles, it’s easier to get experience working in a major flagship store for a luxury brand as a first time sales person or first time management (they literally hire based on vibes)
Cons
The team culture here hasn’t changed in the past 5 years— believe the old reviews. I wish I did. Management is extremely cliquey. I was excluded from meetings, team dinners, hiring and interviewing, and every day I was out on the floor with the team while everyone else is laughing it up in the office. When the team leads asked for support on the floor, upper management would answer “you got this big guy!” and then close the office door. I was also never formally trained until 6 months into the job. The management team did everything they could to render me as uninvolved with the operation as possible. If you take this job, you will be alone on the floor with the team every day. The hourly associates often feel unappreciated and manipulated, and they are right to, since I was told directly from the mouth of upper management to “talk to them like they are children or animals” (yikes!)
