Pros
No pros, long hr, pay is on the low side, There version and very custom way of doing scrum.
Cons
A lot of politics going on, and it is more based on seniority instead of the actual skills and experience that the person has or brings. The interview was quite fast, no technical or coding skills checked, never met the team. It end up that they were looking for some one fast and afterwards discovered why. The team was lacking software engineering and technical skills. Members over stepping there roles and how I said there very, very own version of scrum . Hired as a regular developer, discovered that I was and end up taking over and compensating for the lack of knowledge of what they had hired as the senior developer and the team, Furthermore there first version built was not licked from the client and I rewrote , reengineered and rearchitected everything. In essence , ending up leading the team and had to constantly be with a knife in my mouth do to attempt of back fire from the team members to downgrade and create problems for my work. There had mistaken an aws solutions architect from a real solutions architect and/or system engineer that has knowledge of distributed systems and fault tolerant methods, practices, style and architecture. The resume and linkedin profile of what they had hired as a senior developer and the solution architect was full of over stated and over rated achievements that when seen in practice and when he spoke it was clear that he had no real experience and knowledge of the technology used or covering that role or working for a real project for external clients. Suggesting that the work he had done was more for internal use or just as a support person. Furthermore, pointing fingers and blaming, showing more his ignorance in the subject or technology in use. This was possible because of the lack of knowledge and ignorance of the entire team and the management. Not knowing that a solution architect or system engineer is not an software engineer or developer. At the end they tried to revert the positions by brute force and I left. I discovered later that it is a custom method and practice of the company. Furthermore, management to back up were demonstrating there lack of knowledge in basic principles. Especially in the technology stack and the reasons behind it.
