Pros

I made a lot of mistakes, and I felt 1. I was empowered to make them 2. I was forgiven and helped when they blew up in my face. My boss Ben was amazing and I'm still friends with him.

Cons

At least when I was there, there was no ability to work full time remote or on a flexible schedule, which is pretty typical for Waco (and most companies, to be fair). I do think maybe one or two employees were full time remote AND I also didn't ever ask to switch, but the policy was definitely in the office with everyone else, leave with everyone else. Pay was decent (it's Waco non SF); benefits I think could have been a bit better around healthcare but they weren't bad, just average.

Pros

The three main execs - Scott Stanger, Stefan LeRow, & Rick Tullis - are great men who genuinely care about Capstone and their employees. They have varying degrees of approachableness, but overall have a good sense of humor and are willing to listen to any of their employees regardless of position in the organization. The employees all get along really well and are really friendly. I felt welcomed and empowered really early on - week one. Culture is fairly self-empowering - do what you need to get your job done. They provide the tools and the freedom for you to make that happen. Besides the good leadership, favorite part would have been the consistent move towards doing things bigger, better, faster, stronger. The leaders at Capstone genuinely want to be the best and make the investments to be there.

Cons

The office was nice, clean, etc...but pretty vanilla. Would have been nice to have some couches, flair, any sort of upgrade from cubeville. Benefits and salary are not bad for Central Texas, but aren't as good as you could get in a major metroplex like Dallas, Houston, or Austin. Part of that is a regional thing and cost of living is significantly lower which makes up for it, but if I had stayed I would have really liked to have seen the health insurance get a major upgrade.
