Pros

Staff are excellent along with management who listens and provides communication on what the company is doing. Team atmosphere with good work/life balance. Benefits are really good starting on Day 1 of work - Salary is competitive, Medical (BCBS) is par for the course, Dental/Vision is as well, 401k is 100% match on 3%. PTO is 20 days plus 2 personal holidays and 12 paid holidays (extra days at Christmas time). Pretty typical PTO but you can use all of it right away at the beginning of each year (no need to wait on accumulating days). Hours vary based on position, but mine was 7.5 hours with an hour lunch (most places do 8 hours with 1 hour lunch). Work from home for many of their jobs along with great flexibility. Provided equipment to do your job - I had laptop, iPhone, monitor, and extra equipment as requested. When we were going to the office, mileage was paid if your position was mobile.

Cons

Right now the main thing is that the company is in flux. The big one is that Cardinal lost 2 growing suburb counties (Union & Cabarrus) to Partners (a next-door competitor LME/MCO) starting July 2021. Management makes it sound like everything is fine, but they were pretty much the largest counties outside of Mecklenburg. Other things happening - departments are rearranging, they are planning for Tailored Plan that starts July 2022, work has increased as they do current processes and have you learn new ones for Tailored Plan, and open positions are not filled/replaced as quickly as they should. Lack of career advancement led me to take another position elsewhere.
