Pros
Family-oriented atmosphere, and because it's a small company everyone has ownership of something and contributes in major ways. It's definitely a good place for a go-getter, and experienced professionals. Everyone pitches in regardless of the task or project. They've added 401k, paid maternity leave, additional vacation/PTO, and have always had great medical and health benefits. Oh and there are two offices and work-from-home is an option now, so that offers flexibility but yes does lead to empty offices occasionally. I guess none of us see that as a problem.
Cons
This is not a good environment if you want to stick to a normal daily routine or work hard without continuing to grow. It's also sad that even in a close family-oriented atmosphere there are still former coworkers (or, specifically one former coworker) who can't get past being let go. Really he was considered a "top performer" but was miserable here, and the rest of us begged for management to replace him. No one knows why years later he's still sore about the whole thing- he obviously didn't like it here and I'm sure has moved on to things better for him. Compensation could be a little higher, but they're working on that too.
