Pros

Some of the individual contributors are talented and supportive. There’s a free lunch on Wednesdays. If you push hard enough, you can carve out real learning opportunities, though none of it comes easily or with guidance.

Cons

Reader: If you are still considering this job, it is probably because your other options have not worked out. Be patient and stay away. The so-called “hybrid” model is just a quiet return-to-office push with very little flexibility. Management is inexperienced, disorganized, and focused on self-preservation. They will throw their own people under the bus for personal recognition. I’ve witnessed and had private conversations with long term employees; Executives rarely challenge private equity or the board and prefer to agree with whatever they are told. The company cannot handle feedback and change happens painfully slowly. It is clearly in a private equity holding pattern, likely preparing for another investment round or a sale. Long-term vision does not exist, and most decisions are made to dress up short-term numbers.
