Pros
I am not there anymore.
Cons
CRO's will generally make you work harder for less money, in their business the work goes to the lowest bidder, but Catalent takes this to a whole new level. Upper Management cares about only one thing, IPO and they are criminally brutal about it. They are way behind the times when it comes to computing and software. Some of the computers still have Y2K stickers on them. It would be a serious upgrade if they started using a hammer, chisel, and stone tablets, with training by Barny Rubble instead of the chromatography data system and training they currently have. To make it even worse you can't get training on the system until you "know how to use it" (they actually make that statement with a straight face). If you make a mistake while you are poking in the dark trying to figure the system out, you'll get yelled at about it repeatedly. There is no room for advancement or learning, everyone is too busy working long hours to attempt to meet impossible promises made by management. The promises are usually kept because people don't want to get fired so they work ridiculous hours. I was hourly so I usually didn't have to work more than 12 hours in a day. My salaried supervisor routinely put in 16 to 18 hours in a day.
