Great nonprofit. - Senior Manager Center on Addiction Employee Review

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and important mission.

I was there for a short-term role, would have loved to join the team full time, but there weren't openings so I moved on.

Some really nice and cool young people work here.

Hierarchical management system with no opportunities for advancement. The CEO has been accused of fraud at a previous job and somehow managed to become CEO of this organization with no connection to the addiction issue. There seems to be a Catholic connection with him and some board members. It's very strange. I feel guilty about asking anyone to donate to the organization previously. They are so removed from real people who are struggling and have no idea how to impact those people. Their senior management consists mainly of lawyers in a time when we're trying to un-do the criminal aspect of drug use and promote a public health approach. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
