Cons
I wanted to like working at Century. I genuinely liked my manager as a person, and I believed in the mission of helping people get out of debt. But a change to the commission structure between one year and the next severely impacted my income. Despite stronger effort and more production, I ended up earning around $20,000 less than the previous year equaling a 29% pay cut.
Ironically, I had to file for bankruptcy because I couldn’t even afford the monthly payment on the very program we offer to clients.
The reality is, the pay no longer met the median cost of living in my area. I’m getting paid 46% under my state’s median income limit per my household size. That’s including my base pay and commission. Bottom line, I gave it my best, but the goals are unrealistic and the compensation simply isn’t sustainable.
Would I recommend working here? Honestly, no. Like it or not doesn’t matter. I simply couldn’t afford to work here anymore.
