Highly political environment, favoritism is present
Seriously lacking diversity in the engineering dept for a company trying to be in the tech space
Lack of female leadership/mentorship in the engineering department
COO was promoted to CEO, although he harbors an extremely toxic culture. Many people who left cited this in exit interviews prior to his promotion.
Projects/major decisions made without having data to back it up.
Leadership lacks knowledge on the product, then takes credit for the work of all the engineers
Most of the talented engineers have since left
Pay is not competitive for a “tech” company, they throw one time bonuses at people who ask for raises and have an extremely slow promotion process. No real path for ICs, and hire managers from outside rather than promote.
Project work with Amazon is extremely dramatic and political
Had some extremely hateful coworkers while there
Over 4 years there, there were many major cases of harassment, always against women. These were never truly addressed by leadership and brushed under the rug.
Leadership encourages unrealistic deadlines, even when they know it will compromise quality.
Serious culture divide between downtown and Oak Brook office.
