Pros

This is a great place to find a career if you are willing to put in the required effort. For the area, the pay is above average, there is opportunity for quick and sustained growth. I started 3 years ago with a very limited background in Manufacturing and even less so with blown film but was able to progress through the levels rather quickly. It took effort and initiative on my part, and leadership recognizing that I was willing to put in the work to grow. If you are serious about growing with an industry leader, CNG will take you on and grow right along with you. Benefits are pretty decent, a couple different health insurance plans to choose from, dental, vision, 401k with 100% company match up to 5%, flex spending, quarterly bonuses based on safety goals and production/quality metrics, an ownership program that aims to benefit employees by giving shares of the company that will cash out at sale of company. All information about shares, including current value per share, and total amount of shares owned, is readily available online. Safety is the top priority.

Cons

Very busy at times, communication can be better, 12 hour shifts (takes some getting used to, but now I will never go back to a 9-5 given the choice).

Pros

You work with good people though not all are hard working, most are. The work schedule is what I like the most. The job itself isn't too bad, there's days where it's stressful. Benefits are OK, the pay is DECENT (for operators anyway), you get more with more training. Quarterly bonuses were good for a while now they're hit or miss, but extra money is acceptable. Quarterly Company outings are nice depending on what the shift picks.

Cons

There are cliques and it's a boy's club to an extent (depends on the building and shift). You work 12 hour shifts (not for everyone) The company pushes surveys really hard to improve worklife but it's mostly to make the company look good. The company is PE adjacent The company goes to lengths to "cut costs". Leadership is only receptive to ideas that work immediately or short term "Room for growth" is gatekeeped to an extent. You can be motivated to learn/earn more and either get put to the side, put on lines where you can't learn, or training attention is put to people like. You're not always going to be met halfway in that regard. Mind you, it depends on what shift you're on as well and how long you can be persistent.
