Pros

Great people to work with (coordinators thru VPs) Opportunity for growth if desired Plenty of PTO and holiday Work from Anywhere policy Lots of consumer PR or influencer work

Cons

Every team across the agency is missing at least 2-3 bodies that would ensure nobody works more than 40-45 hrs/wk. Instead most work approx 50-60 hr weeks. If they say “help is on the way” it will most likely be an intern that requires more time to train than help, you have to wait a quarter year or more for someone to get hired, or freelancers that can be a hit or miss because they only assist and are not fulltime employees. You get plenty of PTO/holidays, but you will most likely have to work while on vacation. In all likelihood you're the only manager or director on the account due to inadequate staffing so who else is your team going to call with questions they cannot answer. Ask anyone working there today if they know when or what they need to work on to get promoted. Due to staffing no one has time to contemplate growth trajectories. For client issues, SVPs and EVPs try to assist but mostly get in their own way. Instead of providing solutions they add more stress on the team with unproductive meetings (akin to scolding sessions). CEO and HR have shared awe-inspiring presos on the future of the agency and what it needs to do to improve (hint: it’s staffing) but there has been little change if any. There's surveys and meetings and a bunch of things said but nothing done. There are some happy hours but the culture budget is so meager so there isn't a big holiday party or anything exciting.

Pros

- Decent pay and benefits - Flexible hybrid work, never had a problem getting time off - Work with big name clients - Lots of hands on experience in different projects that makes you well rounded - Junior staff has very strong skill set and are the true “culture” at Citizen

Cons

- Veteran employees are traditional to corporate hierarchy. Only their ideas are the ones being executed and give stand-off energy to any one under them. - Pay bumps aren’t significant when getting a bonus or promotion - Understaffed for the last years so working long hours a lot of days - Very rare to have leadership slow down and teach you strategy. Lots of figuring it out as you go
