Pros

I guess after a lengthy stretch here the only positive thing I could possibly say is that I met a few great people here who I still keep in touch with.

Cons

Very low salaries despite being a specialist area (average salary for job 25k, offered 16-18k). No career prospects what so ever. If you don't give yourself a push you will never get out of there. The managing director operates with a "Do as I say not as I do" attitude (walks around in tracksuit and asks people why they aren't wearing a tie or don't have the correct shoes on) and cares only about the money he is getting in his pocket so he can show off his flash cars and deny people their salary reviews, He does not care about his employees or clients. Be very wary about working here or using them as a business. They also Operate as Manchester Outsourcing, Gordon Lockwood, Consumer Services Direct, Damsons Future Planning, Dragon Finance. The work that is produced by central functions can't be classed as "complete". When something is requested to be worked on it can never be completed because higher authority want it now. Therefore cutting corners and not being able to do it to a satisfactory standard. Quite a lot of the time it caused further problems down the line which was then blamed on the original person who made it because it wasn't complete. I never understood how you could operate a business if you can't build a decent infrastructure around it and treat employees with respect. Somehow it has been done here.

Pros

People there are brilliant, incentives are good. As call centres go you'll probably struggle to find a large one which is as fair, considerate to employees and relaxed if you apply yourself and keep good attendance. Internal roles and intra-company jobs at other branches of the company are regularly advertised so there is definitely progression opportunity, or other options if you're on a sales team and want away from it!

Cons

Some campaigns do cold-call questionable data. (Up to 24 months in the system.) Lead gen is purely cold calling and difficult but thats the same with all similar campaigns. The hours are long 10-7, however there's no graveyard shifts and whilst they do advise you work some weekends this was not enforced and at your discretion.
