Cons
My experiences at Pathways really fluctuated during my time there. When I started out with them my manager was a micro-manager. She would complain about my numbers but wouldn’t show me how to improve. After my first year there I was transferred to a supervisor that empowered me and the rest of the team. For three years I could honestly say, it was the best job I ever had. I could control my schedule, benefits were good, pay was good, and I worked with the best team. Things eventually changed and I had to change to transfer to another team/supervisor. While the pay was great, the work expectations kept increasing without additional training until I made a complaint to compliance about it. The supervisors would talk to other case managers about me and would then tell us in meetings not to gossip. The training at pathways is so broad and most supervisors don’t know how to do case management themselves. They are focused on productivity and numbers not on the well being of their workers and they do not know how to empower staff. It’s a controlling environment. I did not feel safe to address issues with my supervisor because I feared retaliation.
