Pros
The team is creative and energetic. Opportunity to learn quickly because you’re thrown into many different projects with little onboarding. Exposure to a variety of healthcare-related clients and marketing functions.
Cons
Account directors are expected to serve as “fractional CMOs” for far too many clients at once. The workload makes it nearly impossible to deliver the quality clients are promised. Most of the staff is very early in their careers and lacks healthcare experience, which means a lot of time is spent trying to understand industry basics rather than driving results. Because of the heavy load and lack of resources, projects are often rushed or outsourced to tools like ChatGPT rather than being executed thoughtfully. There has been 100% turnover in the last year. Both seasoned and new employees have left, citing burnout, lack of support, and because there is no HR, there is zero oversight. Leadership does not foster open communication. Feedback or dissent is not welcomed, and exits are handled poorly. Employees are let go with zero notice and given the "business needs have changed" conversation. How can you terminate someone through no fault of their own, yet not provide compensation or severance?
