Pros
Good pay for long time employees. The schedule allows you a lot of time off in addition to paid holidays and vacation. You only work 14 days out of the month. 4 days one week then 3 the next.
Cons
Long shifts, 12 hours. It is shift work, 1 month of days followed by one month of nights. They force the PA's to work mandatory overtime. I think this is unethical, when you have plenty of people who want to work overtime but are not allowed to and many are forced to work who do not want to. They espouse a culture of safety but there are many serious injuries on shift. I think because of the pressure from management to produce, produce. People take shortcuts to make their budget and put themselves at risk. The plant used to be a self directed workforce. With no supervisors, the teams made all of the decisions on shift. Then all that changed, they have so many supervisors now, there are layers of people over looking every aspect of plant operation. They have a policy of promoting people to mid level management, who are not solid managers, they will not admit a mistake, then they take a long time, to remove that person out of that position.
