Pros

1. You have relative freedom as a software engineer here regards to your work hours. Some people stick with the 9-5, others work when they want. 2. Most employees are great at their jobs and people work hard

Cons

If you are a junior developer, I wouldn't recommend this place. Most of the engineers, including the team leads, are relatively junior and this is their first job. The fact that the leads don't have much experience under their belt show pretty clearly. People who shouldn't be managing teams are managers simply because of their relationship with the co-founders. This brings me to my next point. Some team leads need to realize that they are no longer the co-founders' phD students. It's very obvious that some leads just want to "please" the founders and this oftentimes leads to some questionable decisions. 2. What the other reviews say about the relationship between the founders and some employees is true. Some employees have a very close relationship to the founders and believe it or not, the founders play favorites. This leads to unproductive meetings where the sole purpose seem to just be a display of power. There are a couple employees who are very close to the co-founders and no one really knows what their day-to-day job is like. If you maintain a very friendly relationship with the co-founders, you're all set. On the other hand, if you speak against any of the employees who are close to the two founders, be prepared to be let go very abruptly. I have seen employees who were vocal about their opinions be fired out of nowhere, without any proper off-boarding. 3. People are expected to work beyond their hours. No one openly says that this is the case, but it's very common to work long hours and be expected to respond promptly on slack even if you are not at work.
