Pros

Great benefits, good training and a paycheck with solid experience to put on your resume when you're finding another job. Lower level management is great although they are not able to do much to help their employees because of upper management.

Cons

This job itself is a unfairly metric based and upper management has time and time again proven they only care about whats best for the company. They've made so many negative changes to the sales structure that end up taking away promotions and doing nothing to compensate employees for lost commissions. You have to work harder for equal or less commissions because of these changes. The turnover is insanely high, most reps end up quitting once they realize what they've really gotten themselves into. Upper management claims to want inside and outside reps to get along yet they want them to sell the same products leading to a cutthroat nature where reps are going after the same business and getting sales stolen because the markets are so bare. Also, the same people are so tired of getting calls for no reason and you have to take it on the chin due to unrealistic metrics. The only type of person I would recommend this job to is a 22 year old college student with no experience who needs something to put on their resume, stay for about 6 months and collect paychecks, then go find better opportunities.

We are thrilled to hear you were able to enjoy the “World Class” benefits package we offer to our employees as well as be able to take a solid training experience along with you to help further succeed in your career endeavors. I am glad you mentioned the paycheck was a Pro as we pride ourselves on the market competitive commission plans we have in place. So thanks for pointing out the positives as we really take extra steps in making this an enjoyable environment that rewards those who are serious about taking advantage of our career path. Hopefully you were able to join us in our team building experiences the past year, such as the “All you can eat crab cruise”, the “Dinner and a Movie night out”, the “Top Golf Party”, the “March Madness Contest”, the “Holiday Grab Bag”, and the many team lunch outings. We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with the target expectations we have put in place to assist our employees in succeeding both financially and professionally, though metrics are standard for any sales role. We have taken the behaviors of our top performers and tried to share them with the rest of the floor, hoping they too will adopt the activity levels of those excelling in the role. We have been very pleased to identify these top reps and quickly move them through the career path. Because of this, we were able to offer 40 promotions for the year 2014 out of group whose average size is 60 sales reps. With all of the dynamic growth the company has been experiencing through acquisitions, it has opened up tremendous opportunities for those who have excelled in their role. This rapid growth also brings temporary overlap of efforts in a given market. We believe we have mastered the process of fully integrating acquired salesforces within our own, resulting in the promotion of 30% of our inside sales team to the field sales team. These reps are now benefiting from even greater training and earnings. We have yet to see oversaturation in any markets, and these past few months have been the biggest months in sales that Costar has ever seen.

Pros

I worked for Homes.com - Great first job out of college to learn a lot about sales and can make good money in the first 3 months - FIND PEOPLE THAT HAVE DONE THIS JOB AND HAVE LEFT AND FIGURE OUT WHY CUZ THEY'LL TELL YOU

Cons

I worked for Homes.com - You're doing 3 jobs in one and the pay does not reflect that - it is churn and burn. The average tenure here is 7 months - Management doesn't know what's going on 3/4 of the time. It is all up to the CEO and he's on his private jet more than 3/4 of the time
