Pros
This company has some great and talented people and very competitive benefits. The management really seems to care, and has a conscience. Probably the best Healthcare options that I've ever received. It also provided a solid market level salary. The CTO, while being opinionated, was always happy to listen. As was management in general. This is likely a company that I'd be happy to work for again, given a few changes.
Cons
While employed, the company direction was pretty chaotic. There was no person dedicated to helping drive the product vision, and it became just a bunch of unfocused ideas that were hodgepodged together. There was also a very large difference in terms of the talent pool. Some of the engineers I worked with were absolute rockstars (I don't use that term lightly). Others were so focused on either being right, or getting things done quickly (and then having to go back and re-write and re-write and ...) rather than stepping back and assessing the best possible path (and patterns and architectures), given the current known set of factors. That really seemed to hurt the quality of the products that we built. There were also no unit tests and our QA team seemed to loath any sort of automated testing, instead resorting to only manual testing procedures. One of the selling points for me was that the company was 'growing' and that this position could potentially provide ample room for growth. While I was there, the company lost more employees than it gained, and the team itself was quite small to begin with. Finally, while many of the other benefits were quite good, they only offered 2 weeks PTO. In this day in age, that simply doesn't cut it.
