Pros

Employees are willing to work, wants to build career

Cons

Top management run by Tamil Brahmins dominated with no diversity is a serious concern. Does it mean only Tamil Brahmins are the only intellectuals in this earth of millions of people. Caste bias , language bias exists. Do not join this company. Management assured me a leadership role during my join after I graduated from UCLA Anderson School GEMBA program. Later found that management did not had any intention of offering me a leadership role, they just wanted someone with US citizenship to for onsite role at Canada to travel from USA with weekly travel. Also, HR wants an official copy of my previous employer pay roll to review what salary I am making in order to match. They did not match anything, got less for the assurance of leadership role, but they did not give any leadership role. Watch out guys!

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
