Pros

Consistent work in the Healthcare vertical.

Cons

Cognizant is consistently pushing to move as much work as possible to India and leave as few employees in the US as possible. It became increasingly difficult- almost impossible- to move upwards if you are a US employee without the desired "background." Opportunities are routinely made available to Indian associates only, even when promised to US employees as well ("it's not in our US team budget after all.") Levels of bureaucracy have been introduced making it increasingly difficult- almost impossible- for employees/processors to simply complete basic everyday tasks. (When someone creates a bot to help employees log into everything they need to log into or when you literally have to open a ticket to get approval to open a ticket, a line has been crossed. Also, favoritism trickles down from the top, with each successive layer down playing favorites.

Pros

Cognizant can be a great place to work at. You have to be self-motivated and driven. You won't often be given a script on how to do your job well. But if you are willing to search for new opportunities, you will find success.

Cons

Just like many other tech companies, layoffs are happening all the time. This often brings many projects to a complete halt. Management never communicates when someone is laid off. And when they are laid off, they often never back fill positions, leaving existing team members working the equivalent of three jobs at once. Most teams there are skeleton crews, ensuring that they cannot reach their full potential.
