Terrible pay and bad management - Well Logger/Field Geologist Columbine Logging Employee Review

It was a great experience I love this job I felt like everyone was family to me best job ever

I had no problem but my own health caused me to leave and I felt very bad

The firm made payroll on time, even though the compensation is near the very bottom of the industry pay scale, it was paid as "California" overtime at the rate of one and one-half times the employee's regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of eight up to and including 12 hours in any workday. The managers seemed to make an effort to be decent. I wouldn't be credible if I didn't mention the shop being a good starting point for an entry-level employee,.

This company is all about cheapness, Columbine undervalues their workforce, undercuts their service rate which in my opinion is in proportion to the quality of the service and equipment. There is a significant amount of unpaid overtime involved, at least with the service scope I provided, and a requirement for their employees to use their personal vehicles to dispatch the company's equipment into the field. Work-life balance is below the industry average for the role. My experience with the company was it lacked sufficient bench strength to staff its projects to the extent that at times it could not contend with illnesses and employee emergencies. In my conversations with other employees, favoritism seemed to be present.
