Pros

Friendly staff. “Paid health insurance.” Well-known and reputable employer. Tuition reimbursement. Relocation assistance. Fair pay given the expensive market.

Cons

The “included health insurance” is an HMO that some of our own affiliated physicians don’t want to accept, so they refuse new patients who have it. The company provides only six paid holidays a year—excluding even some of the basic ones that everyone typically gets, such as Presidents’ Day or MLK Day. Holidays are not paid as advertised; instead, they are lumped into “PTO” along with vacation time. For example, if you want Christmas Day off, you must use your vacation time; otherwise, you have to work or take it unpaid. New employees accrue only five hours of PTO every two weeks. Once you account for those six basic holidays—let alone any additional time needed for childcare or other personal matters—you are left with very little time off, despite the extremely high output expectations.

Pros

Great pay Great benefits Great team culture Great non-profit values

Cons

Large corporation going through a lot of structural changes these past few years had made it difficult to keep things aligned as the company disassociated from advent health, while simultaneously merging centura health into commonspirit
