Pros

Love that when they come through the building I work that they don't talk or look in our direction because I have stuff to do anyways. And when they take management out for dinner it's like the building relaxes while they are gone. It's a pleasant break.

Cons

They bought the company I work at. They increased work load, cut benefits, cut hours, cut staff, and cut the budget. Residents paying thousands of dollars of month are eating generic condiments, and complaining to us that since the new company took over the place has changed. They say it doesn't feel like home anymore. That we can't stop even to see how they are doing because we are literally running and stressed and behind. And they just keep pushing for more level 2 residents, increasing our work load, increasing their profit, with no increase in staff. We now start getting showers going at 4am to residents who don't want to be up simply because it's the only way to get everything done. Residents lose the choice to choose anything, because they have become part of a corporate puzzle that must fit into their idea of how much money they feel they can milk from residents. Who, instead of treated as human beings, are now treated as cattle, herded through the day as staff simply attempt to survive it and get it all done. Walking out after your shift and stumbling to your car feels like you literally walked off the battle field and you need to rest to go back and fight the war. Literally everyone I work with is currently looking for new jobs. We love our team and residents but this company doesn't care about the ones breaking their backs or the residents paying their paychecks.

Pros

Compass Senior Living has reminded me why I love working in senior living. Every day, I have the privilege of working alongside people who genuinely care about improving the lives of older adults, supporting families, and creating meaningful careers for our team members. What sets Compass apart is that our values aren't just words on a wall - they guide the decisions we make every day. There is a deep commitment to doing the right thing for our residents, empowering our teams, and fostering a culture built on trust, collaboration, and accountability. I also appreciate that Compass provides strong operational systems and resources while recognizing that every community is unique. Our leaders are encouraged to tailor care, dining, life enrichment, and resident experiences to meet the needs of their local community rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. One of the things I value most is the accessibility of our founders. Dennis and Will are engaged, approachable, and sincerely invested in creating exceptional places to live and rewarding places to work. That commitment is reflected throughout the organization. I am grateful to be part of a team that supports one another, celebrates successes together, and never loses sight of our purpose of enhancing the lives of seniors and those who serve them. If you're looking for an organization with a strong culture, supportive leadership, opportunities to grow, and a genuine passion for serving older adults, Compass Senior Living is a wonderful place to build a career.

Pros

I love working for Compass Senior Living because of the culture that prioritizes resident satisfaction and team member support, creating a positive and collaborative work environment. The organization’s focus on dignity, respect, and compassion strongly aligns with my personal values, which makes my work especially fulfilling. Compass Senior Living’s leadership fosters a culture of accountability and continuous improvement while also empowering teams to make decisions that enhance both operations and resident care. I truly value the opportunity to grow professionally, contribute to meaningful initiatives, and work alongside dedicated, mission-driven individuals. Overall, being part of this company allows me to combine purpose, leadership, and operational excellence in a way that is both rewarding and motivating.

Cons

At this time, I do not have any significant concerns to note, as my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. I feel supported both professionally and personally and the organization’s strong culture and leadership continue to create an environment where teams can succeed. While there are always opportunities for any company to grow and evolve, I view those as part of ongoing improvement rather than true drawbacks. Overall, my experience has been very positive, and I appreciate being part of an organization that is committed to both its people and its mission.
