      Pros

      Steady paycheck, no fear of layoff.

      Cons

      Managers big into micro-management. Morale always low. Raises (even for basic cost of living increases) simply don't happen.

      Pros

      The pay is higher than most employers offer for similar positions. The benefits like PTO & sick time are higher (with increased seniority).

      Cons

      No paid holidays. The culture is not as warm & "family-like" as it has been in the past. If you do not fit a specific "mold" for leadership they will not hire or promote you despite your vast knowledge & added value to the team.
