Pros
Frequent clinic management position openings due to high clinic manager turn over rates. Clinic managers are salaried and required to work unreasonably long hours, routine 10 to 13 hour days required of clinic mangers to do non-exempt duties to offset reductions in non-exempt staff to reduce labor costs.
Cons
Staff reductions in support departments (Acct. Mgmt., Sales, Referrals, Case Mgmt., Marketing, etc.) has resulted in those duties being pushed down to the clinics with no additional staffing. These duties are assigned to the already stretched thin clinics and they are expected to perform at higher efficiency than the dedicated departments. The clinics are not sufficiently staffed to effectively handle the patient volume and if any staff are off there is minimal PRN coverage available. Limited promotion ability due to downsizing and most managers above the clinic manager level are hired from outside the company.
