Pros

Hands down the best place I've ever worked. As a practice that's focused on accelerating results for companies through communication tools, their handle on good management and communication is top notch. It's not just something they sell to clients, everyone seems to live the principles.

Cons

Conversant is a forward thinking company, but sometimes hesitant about innovative ways for employees to work. That said, each person at every level in the company is in constant thought and communication about what can serve employees and clients best so they eventually get there.

Pros

From my time there, there was a very communication-forward atmosphere. I felt very welcomed while I was there. Benefits were good, and the biggest benefit was feeling like I was contributing to something of value. I didn't have to question whether my work was valued.

Cons

Despite having a message and focus on innovation and also on collaboration from a less hierarchal perspective, there is a lot of resistance to change and growth from the top down. I heard a lot of refrains of "this isn't how we do it" without a lot of interrogation. Overpromising and overdelivering was big in the culture, and there wasn't a strong culture of boundary setting even though it was a part of the coaching and consulting curriculum. Still, as an agency of this size, it's better than any corporate environment I've been in.

Pros

A set of tools and solutions that could make a real difference in the world and some good people who do great work in spite of the toxic culture.

Cons

Senior leadership have fallen down a rabbit hole of their own making and live in an alternate reality where they can do no wrong, anything bad that happens is someone else's fault, and yelling, belittling, condemning, and public shaming are considered legitimate management practices. The only people who can succeed here are those who can bear to turn a blind eye to hypocrisy and look the other way as co-workers enter the line of fire one after the other.
