Cons
It's clear there are significant challenges within the company's leadership and strategic direction. Many employees, myself included, have observed a pervasive lack of clear vision. While individual and team motivation generally remains high, there's a concerning sentiment of disillusionment regarding the company's overall trajectory. This appears to stem from deep-seated issues at the leadership level versus the ICs who comprise the bottom rungs of the company. A concerning trend within the company during my time was the emphasis on performative activities for "optics" rather than focusing on genuine productivity and strategic output. Higher leadership often encourages or implicitly requires participation in activities that, while seemingly professional, do not contribute to core business objectives. Forced attendance happy hours, adherence to a military like 9AM-5PM schedule with little flexibility, and off-sites being required over voluntary, are just some of the issues as an example. Some notes on Leadership: In my opinion, one of the key executive's limited practical experience is evident in their strategic involvement and detachment from almost all daily operations. This has seemingly led to an over-delegation of critical responsibilities to another senior leader, resulting in a leadership vacuum. This second senior leader's behavior is a significant source of internal discord. Their management style fosters an environment of instability and appears to be driven by personal agenda rather than professional objectives. Concerns regarding ethical conduct, transparency, and professional boundaries have been widely noted, leading to a negative impact on internal relationships and overall morale.
