Pros

CorePlan is a great company to work for and I would honestly recommend it to anyone interested in the space. The team is generally quite young and energetic, which makes for a very sociable and enjoyable atmosphere. One of the best parts is that the work-life balance and culture are truly second to none; I genuinely enjoy coming to work here. There is a legitimate need for CorePlan's product in the industry, and it’s been exciting to watch the company rapidly expand into new international markets. There is every reason for us to continue growing into one of Australia’s leading software companies, and it's a great journey to be a part of. On top of the mission, the pay is above average and the flexibility is a priceless perk that I really value.

Cons

Like any startup, CorePlan has definitely had its share of growing pains, but things have since settled and worked themselves out. The company is now on a much better trajectory for manageable and sustainable growth moving forward. It is a very fast-paced environment and we still work in a typically 'scrappy' startup way. In my experience, people coming from traditional corporate backgrounds can sometimes struggle to adjust to this - it’s really a style of working that you either love or you don't. Additionally, as mentioned in other reviews, there was previously a problem with a particular manager that had a big impact on the rest of the company. However, this has been resolved, and the current leadership team is well-respected, supportive, and professional.

Pros

- It is a decent yet expensive and clunky SaaS product for an industry that lacks tech solutions as a whole - Product team is genuinely engaged with clients and interested in finding solutions for existing pain points in the industry - With the way the product is headed it looks like the business is on track to be bought by a mining firm

Cons

- Potentially the worst company I worked for. Management is non-existent: self-entitled COO has no clue how to run a business and is too focused on his ego - Micro management and inappropriate behaviour is the motto for managers, often making inappropriate remarks and jokes and being condescending towards employees - Team contributions are often seen as attacks, with COO demoralising anyone that tries to contribute with a different opinion or thought - High turnover in sales, account management and people, areas in which are overlooked and controlled by the COO and underlooked by the CEO - Salary payments are often 1-3 business days late, putting everyone’s finances under pressure - CEO still has a startup in seeding mentality, with tunnel vision on growth and expansion - Unclear metrics around target and lack of proper business planning - No benefits and average to low salary bands - Team events are rarely sponsored by the business with employees often having to foot their bill on team lunches and Friday drinks, creating a terrible culture - The business operates on a reactive approach. With employees often putting out fires instead of strategically investing their time in making the business flourish
