Pros

As of removing work from home policies, there are no pros.

Cons

Management’s decisions are highly questionable, and execs have a habit of getting wildly drunk and sexually harassing or otherwise behaving inappropriately. When sober, they still act very disrespectfully to lower level employees. Pay is not good, and raises have not even kept up with inflation for the past several years. The health insurance coverage is terrible. As of today they announced they were taking away their already anything-but-generous work from home policy and forcing a complete return to office in september.

Pros

Working as a Leasing Consultant at Cortland was a valuable experience that helped me grow both professionally and personally. The company places a strong emphasis on training, customer service, and creating a high-end resident experience, which really sets it apart from many other property management companies. One of the biggest positives is the company culture. Cortland promotes teamwork, accountability, and a people-first mindset. Leadership is generally supportive, and there are clear expectations when it comes to performance and resident satisfaction. The training programs are well-structured and give you the tools needed to succeed, especially if you’re newer to the industry. Cortland is a great place to build a foundation in property management and sales. If you’re motivated, goal-oriented, and thrive in a structured, high-performance environment, you’ll likely do very well here.

Cons

One area that could be improved is internal processes and communication.
