Pros
Lower level staff are hard-working, dedicated, collaborative and desire personal and professional growth. The biggest perk right now is remote-first work.
Cons
2023 has been an incredibly hard year on the market - but decisions at the Executive level have made it even tougher. 2023 has seen reduced bonuses (if they happen at all), lack of annual/merit raises, recurring layoffs, lack of change management, and lack of transparency regarding business decisions and direction. Staff are all working beyond their bandwidth, with little support or empathy from decision-makers. Pay is not competitive, and there is an overall feeling of angst/anxiety about the ability to progress / whether or not jobs will even last. If there are not significant changes and a dedicated focus on the employee experience and morale, I forsee even more staff leaving and persistent struggles for the business.
